Writing Our Own Story Since 1944

In 1944, Marcel Bich and his business partner went into business as a maker of writing instruments parts in France. Six years later in 1950, Bich launched his own ballpoint pen under the BIC® brand — a shortened, more memorable version of his own name. An icon was born.
